In this week’s sermon, The Power Of Our Own Salvation, we look at Jonah 2, the short passage containing Jonah’s time in the belly of a great fish. In his mind, Jonah deserved and expected death. But even in his most despairing moments, He sings the praises of God who has not completely disowned Jonah.
Jonah 2 is a personal and corporate “mirror” into our heart of praise for God’s mercy and love, and our heart of mercy for those who face eternal separation.
Allow your discussion to 1) acknowledge His grace, even in our disobedience; 2) consider what judgment might look like for the lost among us; and 3) accept a second chance to fulfill His call.
